Bailey is a beautiful 2-year old American Pit Bull Terrier that lives in Olney, Maryland with her parents Dante and Karlene and new “brother” Rex, a tri-colored Pit Bull puppy.
Karlene and Dante loved Bailey, but Karlene was having a very hard time controlling her, especially when trying to walk her. “My hands would burn from pulling on the leash so hard”, Karlene said. She struggled with Bailey for quite some time and even consulted other dog trainers but saw no results. Finally, based on the recommendation of a neighbor she contacted Morris Lindesey.
Karlene was initially very nervous. At their first class Bailey showed signs of aggression towards Morris and the other dogs right away. Karlene says she looked on in horror as Bailey challenged Morris, but Morris never backed down or gave up on Bailey. He had suggestions for things they could work on at home and continue to improve upon. Within three sessions with Morris, Bailey was transformed into a completely different dog.
What does Morris say about Bailey today? “She is arguably one of the best dogs in class. Bailey is proof that when our system is followed results are achieved quickly.”
“She is now more disciplined on our walks and my hands do not burn anymore!” says Karlene. “Something so important that was difficult for us, was fixed immediately and made our lives easier on a daily basis. ” Dante, who is Bailey’s handler in iCareK-9 advanced classes, now trains her off leash, around other dogs and people, with the guidance of Morris.
“We love the training and knowledge that Morris, Annemarie and iCareK-9 offer so much that we have enrolled our little Rex in their puppy classes. We want both of our dogs to be the best they can be. We believe that iCareK-9 provides that for them.”
Rex, who is only four months old, just graduated from his AKC STAR Puppy Class with flying colors and is now training with his “big sister” Bailey in iCareK-9 advanced classes. Karlene now organizes walks with Rex, Bailey and the other dogs from iCareK-9 on the weekends. They recently got a group together at Lake Needwood in Rockville, Maryland. The dogs loved it, their owners loved it and it was a great way to practice the training they’ve received in the real world with other dogs, people and distractions.
